New and improved!
The Pax 1776 Saw, Thomas Flinn’s finest saw and a must have for all woodworking enthusiasts and is our flagship saw. Made with a heavily folded brass back roll marked with 'Pax 1776 Sheffield England', it is made as a celebration piece commemorating the start of Pax saws and are made today to the same high standards they were two hundred years ago. The folded brass back means the blade is held under tension offering excellent rigidity and balance. The weight of the brass back aids the fine cutting ability of this saw. The traditional open handle is made from Walnut and has solid brass split nut and medallion. It is hand finished with Danish Oil to offer the perfect comfort and grip. This saw is the ultimate in beauty and also in it’s unrivalled performance. These saws are all tested before despatch.

Very high quality saw cuts beautifully and I love the extra weight from the brass back massive upgrade from the veritas saws I have been useing. A week after useing this saw I purchased a second in 13tpi for cutting tennons and planning on buying a third in crosscut. Very happy with them i would highly reccomend them to anyone
We woodworkers come in all shapes and sizes.
I'm very fussy about appreciating quality saws and where they function best. Others do their thing.
Of course this saw can be used right across the board and do an excellent job of it but for me it's horses for courses.
Light softwood and I'm likely to pick up one of my Veritas but when we hit the heavy hardwood this little gem comes into her own.
The difference is chalk and cheese with the mangnificant Pax 1776 bringing a very heavy folded brass back which gives all the pressure required meaning full concentration on the cut.
This saw is worth every penny of the cost . . .you want the best, you pay for the best . . . and that doesn't mean spending around £500 for "that" saw.
