Scary Sharpening System Deluxe Set (1 x Large Plate)

by Scary Sharpening

This industrial product has a superior performance with respect to its wear rate of the grit and backing medium, compared to the original lapping films used for fibre-optic polishing.

We use these abrasive sheets in our furniture workshop and has been very well received by our students - designed for use in the metalwork micro-finishing industry and a far more robust product overall.

The higher the micron or U number, the coarser the grade. Each sheet is 280mm x 230mm and makes approximately 3 strips for scary sharpening tasks.

Our deluxe set combines the precision flat surface of our Polycarbonate plate with Shield Technologies HoneRite 1 Honing Fluid, a piece of stay put matting, a full set of the abrasive sheets and Veritas's excellent Mk II Honing Guide and Camber Roller Package.

Deluxe Set consisting of:

  • 1 each of the abrasive sheets grades (3u, 9u, 15u, 20u, 40u, 80u)
  • 1 Polycarbonate plate approx. 250 x 290 x 12mm
  • 1 sheet of stay put matting
  • 1 250ml tin of Shield Technology HoneRite No1 Honing Fluid
  • 1 Veritas MkII Honing Guide System
  • 1 Veritas Camber Roller for the above honing guide

Shield Technology HoneRite No1 can only be shipped in the UK mainland, due to the flammability of the product.

FREE UK Delivery on all orders over £30 within the UK Mainland, Northern Ireland, Highlands & Islands, for a limited time only*. Only £5.95 on orders under £30.

Order before 2pm and we'll aim to despatch your order the same day, Monday to Friday. Please allow 1 to 2 working days for delivery.

Scarily sharp!

This is a great set of sharpening kit that is enabling me to keep my chisels and plane blades sharper than I have ever managed before. For full honing after using the Tormek the honing guide is really useful. At times a quick honing on the highest grit paper is all that is required and the guide can be dispensed with, if you are then confident at holding the correct angle.
