Veritas - Plane - Low Angle Block Plane stands apart from all others; its 12 degree bed angle and low cutting angle of 37 degrees excel at working end grain.

It has higher side-wings ideal for shooting, finger grips in each side for better control, and a combined blade advance and lateral adjust that is the most sensitive and accurate available. Two blade guide screws prevent blade shifting.

  • Ideal for working end grain
  • Finger grips in each side for better control
  • Combined blade advance and lateral adjustment
  • Ductile cast iron body

It's compact - 162mm (6 3/8") long by 50mm (2") wide - the ductile cast iron body can take hard knocks, and the adjustable nosepiece does not extend past the body.

Weighs 790g (1 3/4lb) and includes a lapped, 3.2mm (1/8") thick by 42mm (1 5/8") wide, blade.

Various blades for working difficult wood - 38 degree and 50 degree bevel blades are available in A2 or O1 tool steel. The A2 toothed blade (38 degree bevel) works the most difficult grain, especially knots. The small, square teeth leave a textured surface that can be smoothed with a finely set plane or a scraper.

The lapped blades have a flatness tolerance of ±0.005mm or better over the working surface, and with an average roughness surface finish of 0.000127mm(5 microinches) or better.

Quality plane that does the job again and again

I can highly commend this great little plane... it comes to hand so well and with a nice weight simply does its job with no fuss every time. Buying from Woodworkers Workshop is as always a pleasure and a fantastic source of well qualified advice.

    Superb!

Great block plane! The brass fastener and Noris yaw adjustment are very good quality. I opted for the PMV-11 Steel blade because I heard great things about the quality of the steel and they weren't wrong. Definitely worth having on your bench.

    Great little plane

This little plane is out on the bench all day, ready for all those little planing tasks that spring up. The finger grips mean that it does not slip about in the hand, and the large knurled wheels make for accurate and fast adjustment of the blade. I particularly like the blade guide screws as they ensure that on winding the blade backwards or forwards you do not have to worry also about the lateral positioning of the blade to the same extent as with other planes I have used .

  • Shipping - our service is free on orders over £85 and only £5.95 on orders under £85 within the UK Mainland, Northern Ireland, Highlands & Islands!

We aim to dispatch all orders placed before 2pm Monday-Friday on the same working day.
