The Veritas Low Angle Block Plane stands apart from all others; its 12 degree bed angle and low cutting angle of 37 degrees excel at working end grain.

It has higher side-wings ideal for shooting, finger grips in each side for better control, and a combined blade advance and lateral adjust that is the most sensitive and accurate available. Two blade guide screws prevent blade shifting.

  • Ideal for working end grain
  • Finger grips in each side for better control
  • Combined blade advance and lateral adjustment
  • Ductile cast iron body

It's compact - 162mm (6 3/8") long by 50mm (2") wide - the ductile cast iron body can take hard knocks, and the adjustable nosepiece does not extend past the body.

Weighs 790g (1 3/4lb) and includes a lapped, 3.2mm (1/8") thick by 42mm (1 5/8") wide, blade. Supplied with a PMV-11 blade with a 25 degree bevel.

Various blades for working difficult wood - 38 degree and 50 degree bevel blades are available in A2 or O1 tool steel. The A2 toothed blade (38 degree bevel) works the most difficult grain, especially knots. The small, square teeth leave a textured surface that can be smoothed with a finely set plane or a scraper.

The lapped blades have a flatness tolerance of ±0.005mm or better over the working surface, and with an average roughness surface finish of 0.000127mm (5 micro inches) or better.
