Description

Ashley Iles Marking Knives are hand forged from O1 high carbon steel hardened to RC61, with a thin, slightly curved blade helps the knife to cut smoothly and precisely. The bevel is ground on the right hand side of the knife leaving the left hand side flat to reference of a straight edge or square.

Non-slip rubberised handle gives a comfortable and positive grip. 

Overall length: Approx. 5" (125mm)

Available as a left hand or right hand.

Bought after watching a crimson guitar video. Never used one before. Marking fret slots much easier. Essential tool for the process. Someone stole the first one I bought so had to buy another one. Highly recommend getting one. Value for money too.

Ashley Iles Marking Knife

I've used a number of different marking knives in my workshop and the Ashley Iles one I recently acquired is among the very best. Excellent steel and sharpness, and it is flat it can't roll off the workbench (which my previous favourite, a Sabatier marking knife, did and thereby broke the blade). I particularly like the curved blade, something no other in my collection has.

Not sure if this is a bit over priced for a sharpened piece of steel dipped in plastic for a handle. Disappointed really for price.
