Description

A compact and versatile doweling jig that allows woodworkers to create any dowel joint quickly and accurately. It has two retractable edge stops to quickly line up boards. The self-clamping design allows for easy setup. The clamp can be moved from the main body to the clamping wall to create different joints. If required, the clamp body can be removed entirely based on your project needs and your own clamping solution can be used.

The convenient centring marks make sure your holes are where you want them. If you're using common sizes of 12.5mm, 16mm, 19mm, or 38mm thick boards, the three included spacer blocks will automatically align the drill blocks and help you select the appropriate dowel size.

To help eliminate alignment issues, the JointMaster™ has built-in edge stops. Simply lower, tighten, and rest your boards against them to ensure both boards have their dowel holes in the same position for a solid joint. When creating surface joints, the three dowel alignment slots help you transfer the edge dowel position to the face of your board with ease.

Well made , should make dowel joints easier

Pretty good

Pretty good. Robustly made and accurate. A few cavils, though. First off, the clamp thread is a bit rough - better with a little lubrication. Secondly, changing from ‘face’ to ‘end’ mode is a bit of a faff when making corner joints. But the edge guides are useful, and the joints fit perfectly.

Accurate dowel jig

This jig is well built and really simple to use. The jig is easily reconfigured to allow any type of dowel joint (end, corner, face) with different sized bushings (6, 8, 10), each with a row of three drill guides and a clearly marked gauge to provide precise adjustments. Very easy to create single or multiple rows, giving very strong joints.

I first got the Miles Craft dowel kit as it had everything you needed to get started it was far more superior than any other dowel Jig I had used before. I then decided to buy the next Jig that was made of a solid cast metal that made it more stable and had a better layout to the dowel spacing. This Jig was so good that everything lined up and there no need to worry about the flex as there was none eliminating any errors.

Excellent jig

Bigger and more solid than expected. Really well made and was able to produce accurate dowel holes for constructing cabinets with fixed shelves. Much better than the flimsy plastic jigs.

The built-in clamping element saves a lot of time. Not in the description, but there is also an 18mm setup block included (by reversing the 19mm block), although getting the bushing blocks exactly centred isn't important as long as you are careful to always reference off the correct faces of the workpieces.

I think this jig hits the sweet-spot between price and durability/functionality. Would high recommend if you need a dowel jig.
