Woodpeckers Mini Square

This is a great little (it's very small) tool! Beautifully made by woodpeckers, as always. It is great for checking the squareness of your chisels and plane blades when re-grinding/sharpening as well as a myriad of other jobs.

Does exactly what it is supposed to do, and the quality is great.

When I first saw a Pica pencil I laughed - I said how have they maned to over design a pencil quite so much, who pays that much for a pencil and who even wants a pencil that is so over designed. Well then I got one… …And it’s brilliant, it’s clipped on so I never loose it it’s got a little built in sharpener so it’s always sharp, I could go on but you get the picture and what’s a pencil got to do with a Woodpecker mini square. Well when I first saw it I laughed - I said what kind of an idiot pays that much for a square that’s only 50 mm and comes in a little MDF case. But for some reason it sat at the back of my mind so I Put my hand in my pocket… … And it’s brilliant. It just sits on my bench bright red, so I can’t loose it, in it’s little case and I use it for everything, everything, all the time. I managed without one but like that green pencil if mine vanished I wouldn’t pause I’d buy another in seconds. It could however be improved, yes I use it for everything but I haven’t had it that long and the aluminium has already marked in places. For me it needs to be made of something more durable obviously then giving me the chance to pay even more for a tiny tool.

This is used by me every time I touch a tool. Jointer, bandsaw, table saw, scroll saw and router. This is a great quick way to ensure my blades and bits are at a true 90 degrees and a perfect size to fit every tool. Now I need to save up for some more Woodpecker tools.

Perfect, useful square

This is just the tool for truing the blade on my circular saw to 90 degrees.
The package was lost by Royal Mail but Wood Workers Workshop expedited a replacement.

The delivery was very quick. I ordered it for my brother, so it was a gift. He was very happy :).

Great little tool for what i need, love the construction and the handy storage unit, just wish said storage had a lid or the fit was a little more snug so it could sit in my tool case without falling out.

I use this for checking I’m grinding my plane irons and chisels square, perfect tool for the job. It’s not quite as versatile as a standard engineers square as it lacks the fence to hook it against an edge of wood but for its main intended use - checking the squareness of chisels etc i find it extremely uselful.

So i thought this would be a cute little square for checking my dovetails are nice and square. Unfortunately the notch in the inside corner is so large comparative to the square that you don't get adequate registration for very small surfaces like board ends.

Apart from that is squarer than my dad, good build quality.

Tiny but seems to be quite square. Will come in handy for dolls houses.

I use this for checking chisels and plane irons for square when sharpening with my tormek, ideal for that purpose!

Certainly, this a luxury item but beautifully made and finished makes it a pleasure to use when needed

indispensable, never out of my pocket when working, always attracts comments when people try and fail too borrow it!!!!!Expensive but worth it!
