When the Carbon Method team started developing Lightning Lock dust collection fittings, their goal was to improve the experience of moving dust hoses from tool to tool. Until now, the whole process of moving dust collection hoses has been clunky, inconvenient, and fiddly.

Efficiency in your dust collection system is important, not only for airflow, but also for work flow. Most dust collection systems are a series of compromises to reach a goal. Lightning Lock minimises those compromises and provides solutions to them.

With Lightning Lock, they have made three major improvements in dust collection fittings that together will revolutionise your dust collection system.

Lightning Lock dust collection fittings sport a completely genderless quick-connect design. Any fitting connects seamlessly with any other. There are no "male" or "female" pieces, just one versatile connection.

Lightning Lock fittings connect and disconnect in a snap, to make moving from tool to tool lightning fast. This is achieved with magnets. The magnets in the Lightning Lock fittings are completely enclosed, instead of relying on epoxy or glue to keep the magnets in place, which eliminates the risk of them falling out over time. Lightning Lock is a strong connection, easily supporting the weight of the dust hose and then some.

Finally, one of the most exciting feature of Lightning Lock is that every single fitting rotates. It's impossible to explain how much of an improvement this rotating design makes when these are in use. Hoses don't kink or tangle, they just relax into place, making these truly a joy to use. The connections achieve this rotation without any measurable loss in suction or air flow.

The combination of a genderless design, magnetic connection, and captive rotation means that any Lightning Lock fitting will attach to any other of the same size, simply by putting the two near each other! They self align when you connect them, magnets and rotation automatically lining the fittings up to tightly and securely connect. They don’t clog, you never have to clean them, and they just work, really, really well.

The Flex Hose Connectors 63mm/2.5" Standard is great for router table fences and those smaller benchtop machines with 2.5-inch dust ports. Quickly connect from tool to tool when using a router table, benchtop band saw, spindle sander, mitre saw, or edge sander. Removes excess hoses for a cleaner and more efficient dust collection setup, while increasing functionality.

Very pleased

This review is essentially the other side of the coin, "so to speak," from a previous review as such I'll copy and paste below from my tool connector review.

I did 3d print something like this a while ago, but due to poor material selection, etc, they never really worked, so I decided to buy 3 of these for my various tools as well as the hose connector - in essence male and female components.
All fitted and all working very well. The ease of connection is a real plus, with the robustness of materials leading me to think these will stand the test of time in the workshop.
Overall, I am very pleased.

Fantastic all round service!

I've never used Wood Workers Workshop before but have been aware of them for a few years. After spending a long time researching router tables I took the plunge and ordered an Incra top, LS Positioner and router lift, complete with the larger AUKTools router motor. Everything arrived the next day and was packaged superbly. The products are really well made and the router is very powerful and quiet compared to my old one. I had one minor issue with the LS Positioner (an Incra issue, not WWW) and it was resolved very quickly at no cost to me. I would highly recommend this company and the quality products that they stock. There is nowhere else selling woodworking equipment of this quality in the UK. I will be back for more! :-)

This company has the best customer service I can remember receiving. I emailed a query tangentially related to the product and got a comprehensive reply by return. I ordered the product on.a Friday and it was delivered on Saturday. The Incra products are of course excellent quality. Only a shame they use imperial fasteners, but I did find I could run am M6 tap through the 1/4 X 20 hole in the sliding washer with no obvious I'll effect so I could fit a Bristol knob to the sliding extension adjustment.
