Excellent quality product

A pleasure to use, thoroughly recommended . . .

I already owned a set of iGaging's brilliantly conceived digital 'Fastener' calipers (which measure in mm, 1/1000's inch, fractional inches and can round awkward fractions, like 17/128" to useful ones, ie 1/8" if you want, particularly useful if you restore classic British vehicles) so I was very interested when they announced last year the release of the DigiDial caliper. I was even more pleased to find Wood Workers Workshop sold it thus saving me the high international shipping charge and possible customs duty.
DigiDial comes in Bluetooth and non-Bluetooth versions. Neither are cheap, the former being about £15 dearer. I was originally going to buy the non-Bluetooth version but WWW only stock the Bluetooth version which, it turns out, does have it's uses eg: if you're measuring a bunch of components you don't need to stop to write each measurement down - just send twenty measurements to your phone.
Anyway, my initial impression of DigiDail was positive even though the dial body was bulkier and heavier than I expected. But the body is all metal, feels solid, is very well made and you quickly get used to the bulk and balance. The back-lit display is clear and very easy to read. The sliding action is smooth the entire length of travel and holds the 'zero' reference well, but one should instinctively always re-zero each time you turn it on.
Setting the upper and lower limits for 'Tolerence' mode could have been better implemented but it's not a big deal.
The magnetic charging connector is a great idea - it sticks well but breaks away easily enough if you forget the caliper is charging and pick it up to use. However, being a proprietary connector, if the cable is lost or damaged you won't be able to recharge the instrument so I hope iGaging sell spare charging cables else you'll just own an expensive paper weight.
Overall I'm very pleased with this dial caliper. It's as accurate as can be determined by checking against gauge blocks, it's intuitive to use and does everything I need it to.
