Description

Mark perfect joints every time. The extra-sharp replaceable cutter is hardened and marks a keen accurate line, preventing grain tear out during material scribing. One-hand easy-set design requires no additional tools.

Issues with the one handed mechanism

This is a well made tool with a nice sharp blade that leaves a crisp line however I have large hands and found that when I struck a line on a long boards edge the rod would move due to the mechanism. Probably just a matter of getting used to it . its smaller than I thought it would be

Hi Ashley, thank you for your review and sorry to hear of the issue you have encountered. Can I just ask you to check a couple of settings on the gauge, both locking nuts need to be tweaked down and they need to sit within the groove within the stem. If your gauge is still slipping we will have it back and exchange it or look at supplying the Verum Matking Gauge, this is more suited to those with larger hands. The Fine Line: A Great Wheel Marking Gauge for Timber

A nicely made and finished tool. As a beginner I have found it's better to focus on keeping the fence firmly pressed to the timber and to take a few light passes rather then one really heavy cut, this is especially true when marking along the grain as the grain can "track" the cutter away from the job. Hope this helps. Very happy with my purchase.

Exceptional Quality

Has a nice weight to it, nicely finished off with two positive locking nuts and I like the idea of the nylon grub screw where by turning it you can increase or reduce the tension when sliding the steel rod through the brass body. A quality marking gauge at a reasonable price.

The was a very slight burr around the centre drilling, but that was quickly removed and caused no issues at all.
