    Plane language!

As a hobby woodworker I have long been mystified by the complexity of hand planes available. This dvd is extremely informative and I believe a very necessary prerequisite to watch (as a virtual innocent) before spending money on planes to add to your collection.

So much information is given to the viewer

The dvds that follow the development of the plane, the many types of blade and blade configuration etc is simply superb.
So much information is given to the viewer in such a straight forward manner that it makes it so much easier for the woodworker to select a plane and to use it with confidence

    Ive learned so much

I knew there were a lot of handplanes on the market but I never fully understood the reason why. Peter goes into great detail showing what planes are available and what makes them different to one another. He covers their different features and demonstrates what jobs they are best suited for. Being able to see the different planes in use helps a lot to understand their place in the workshop. After watching this I now know how to correctly set up and use the plane I have.

    Excellent Detail

Great in depth and clear explanations of hand planes and their uses. This DVD was just what i was looking for to explain which planes and at what angles suits different timbers.
Packed with detailed information and explanations on what to use and why this DVD gives the knowledge needed to work out how to get the best from planes in many price ranges. Would recommend this DVD as an invaluable woodworkers source of information.
