Description

The combination square was invented in 1878 and has been copied countless times over the last 140 plus years. Over those years very little has been done to make the combination square better.

Woodpeckers product development team wanted more than just a "another" combination square. They built features into the in-DEXABLE Combination Squares you won’t find in any other combination square. Features like laser-accurate scribing guides, positive indexing at every 30mm, a sliding head support and accurate, laser-engraved scales.

Two features stand out when you compare Woodpeckers in-DEXABLES squares with any other combination square. First, you will notice the scribing guides laser-cut on 1mm centres. They’re sized and shaped to guide any marking device perfectly parallel to the edge of your stock. To give the scribing guides an accurate starting point, the round holes in the center of the blade index the heads to the closest full 30mm. The scales are laser-engraved to an accuracy of ±0.10mm (0.004").

Everything you build involves either 90° or 45° or even both of these angles over and over again. The genius of the combination square is having both of them in your hand, all the time. Woodpeckers adds a new feature to the classic design with a sliding tab that supports the head while it’s hanging off the edge of your work.

The Double Square head is a bit more compact than the Combination Square head and more convenient when you know you’re not dealing with mitres. It also has the sliding tab for edge support.

I already own a couple of Woodpeckers tools which I bought from Rutlands Tools back in 2010 who only stocked a very limited selection and now they stock none.
So I recently searched for these tools and discovered, 'much to my delight' Wood Workers Workshop who show a vast selection of this brand and immediately bought the double square which was delivered the next day.

Staggeringly good service, the shipment arrived from Canada at the Wood Workers Workshop warehouse on the Tuesday, went out by post on Wednesday and arrived with my brother in West Wales on Friday morning ! Fantastic all round service!

I've never used Wood Workers Workshop before but have been aware of them for a few years. After spending a long time researching router tables I took the plunge and ordered an Incra top, LS Positioner and router lift, complete with the larger AUKTools router motor. Everything arrived the next day and was packaged superbly. The products are really well made and the router is very powerful and quiet compared to my old one. I had one minor issue with the LS Positioner (an Incra issue, not WWW) and it was resolved very quickly at no cost to me. I would highly recommend this company and the quality products that they stock. There is nowhere else selling woodworking equipment of this quality in the UK. I will be back for more! :-)

Best customer service

This company has the best customer service I can remember receiving. I emailed a query tangentially related to the product and got a comprehensive reply by return. I ordered the product on.a Friday and it was delivered on Saturday. The Incra products are of course excellent quality. Only a shame they use imperial fasteners, but I did find I could run am M6 tap through the 1/4 X 20 hole in the sliding washer with no obvious I'll effect so I could fit a Bristol knob to the sliding extension adjustment.
