Description

More Advanced Techniques for Your Bandsaw

A bandsaw can do far more than straightforward ripping and curve cutting - make sure you are getting the most out of your machine investment. In this course, Peter Sefton moves into more advanced furniture making techniques, demonstrating how appropriate blade selection, jigs, templates and careful technique can considerably extend the range of work you can undertake on the machine.

From timber conversion through to accurate furniture joints and complex curved work, Peter shows how the bandsaw can become an even more versatile machine in your woodworking workshop.

From Green Logs to Furniture Joints

Peter begins with safely converting green logs into boards before demonstrating cutting fine veneers, round stock, curves and accurate wedges.

For more advanced furniture making applications, you'll see how templates can be used for curved work and how a cabriole leg can be cut freehand using a series of 3D cuts. Peter also demonstrates more advanced methods for cutting precision tenons and producing consistent dovetails, with an emphasis on accurate, repeatable results.

Why Learn from Peter Sefton?

Peter Sefton is a Master Craftsman and furniture maker with more than 40 years of woodworking experience. He spent over 20 years teaching and mentoring hundreds of students through his renowned furniture school, where machine techniques and safe, accurate working practices formed an important part of his teaching.

This course brings that same practical approach directly to your workshop. Peter explains not only how to carry out each technique, but why it works, drawing on decades of experience using woodworking machinery and teaching others how to get reliable results from their equipment.

Great reference video

I’ve been using most woodworking machinery for a good few years but always looking for tips and best practice etc. These videos are ideal as peters straightforward terminology and clear delivery make them an easy watch with lots of detailed useful information. In my view well worth it and highly recommended.
My only negative would be that I now want a shiny new Felder bandsaw like Peters!

First Rate

I've been using bandsaws for decades, but found a lot to interest me in this video, covering a wide range of cuts and always with a strong emphasis on safety. Whether I'm using the big bandsaw in my machine 'shop or the small benchtop one in my hand-tool 'shop, the principles are the same, and the same lessons are there to be learnt. Anyone buying a bandsaw, or perhaps struggling to get good results from the one they have, would be well advised to spend a little time and money on this instructional gem.

Awesome

This trio of videos are fantastic, the first is an in-depth and quite intense guide to setting up your bandsaw properly. The second and third videos cover both basic and advanced cuts with the bandsaw. Even for a seasoned woodworker like myself, I have learned a lot from these videos. Peter Sefton is an extraordinary teacher, his style is relaxed and engaging. In my opinion this is well worth the money I spent. My bandsaw cost in excess of £1000. I consider the extra £50 for these videos an investment.
