Verum Precision Engineer's Square - 50mm (2")

I didn’t realise how untrue all my old roofing squares were until I compared with this engineering square. Going from first fix roof construction etc. to cabinet and furniture making shows that a few mm here and there really do make a big difference.
This tool is a reliable reference. Worth every penny.

A very accurate square, it fly's through the 2 line test and feels very good quality in the hand. used respectfully this square should last a lifetime. Its not cheap but you are getting what you pay for. Delivery was fast and woodworkers workshop communication was good

Not a lot to say really apart from it's a fantastic bit of kit. Good weight & very accurate. It's everything you need in an engineers square. Good stuff all round.

The brass strip on my existing 6" wooden square has come loose and warped. I have been looking for a good quality square of different design as a replacement. I'm only a hobby woodworker, so I've been using a cheap traditional carpenters square and a combination square for years and struggled with their accuracy, so thought I'd go down the route of precision engineer's square.

I looked around for something suitable in my price range, that would replace my 250mm carpenters square and this piece of kit caught my eye, pricey compared with cheap squares, but accurate and now I can be confident that every time I mark a square line or check a corner for squareness, it will be that!

It is quite heavy, but you get a very accurate square which is perfect for joinery work.

I purchased the 9" and the 12" squares and was so impressed with the feal and weight of the squares that I order the hole set

This square has some gravity built into it. made from steel thicker than all the other engineer squares I've seen, it feels as if it won't go out of square at the first sight of your tool shelf although you may have to knock back some sharp edges. 10/10 and don't drop it on your foot

Does what it should

I have been looking for ages to find a square that fits the quality and size that I require. I am pleased to say that this square fits the bill. The square is dead true,I have kept trying it but I keep getting the same result, it’s dead true. The square is a great size and has a good weight to it. Has made my life in the workshop a lot easier.

I've got lots of other squares in my workshop but began to realise that not all were 'spot on'. The Verum square has given me a reliable reference against which to measure everything else. I now know which squares I can totally rely on and can adjust others to improve their accuracy. One has gone in the bin! I've also been able to set up my mitre saw to be spot on. This square is accurate and has given me greater confidence and better quality woodwork.
