The apron plane is treasured by Master Craftsman in disciplines including pattern and model making, traditional toy manufacture and musical instrument makers.
Based on the Stanley 101 Block Plane which was first manufactured in the late 1800's, the Verum edition has seen a modern take on an old classic. Made from cast bronze with a 20-degree machined bed, the T10 high carbon steel blade makes an effective cutting angle of 50 degrees when honed. The 50 degrees "York pitch" is renowned for reducing tear out and leaving the perfect finish on cherished work.
A simple blade adjustment screw and one-piece bronze cap that sits comfortably in the hand, complete an overall beautifully crafted plane.
