Create A New AccountVerum's Standard Angle Block Plane is designed for single handed planing and trimming with the grain. The polished bronze cap and planes milled side thumb and finger dimples make the plane a pleasure to use, nestling in the palm of your hand. Its 20 degrees bedding angle plus 30 degrees sharpened blade gives a "York Pitch" of 50 degrees, renowned for reduced tear out on common timbers. With the addition of a blade sharpened at 40 degrees this would achieve 60 degrees "Cabinet Pitch", perfect for interlocked or gnarly grain. Swapping the blade out for a 50 degrees sharpened blade will tackle the most demanding of timbers, almost acting as a scraper plane at 70 degrees. It's weight, balance and short sole make it a favorite plane for many makers allowing it to be agile and easy to use on a wide range of tasks including chamfers, flushing joints, final finishing and tackling tricky timbers.
