StopLossBags Original are engineered to preserve the fresh off-the-shelf quality of fine finishes, paints, and compatible liquids. The patented three-ply construction significantly reduces solvent evaporation, while a dedicated gas barrier inhibits oxygen penetration — helping finishes retain their original viscosity, colour, and performance.
Designed for oil, water, and alcohol-based liquids, these pouches offer a reliable, space-efficient alternative to traditional containers. By eliminating air exposure, StopLossBags dramatically reduce spoilage and waste, allowing you to reuse stored material with confidence. Each bag holds 1.0 litre.
Compatibility
StopLossBags Original bags are suitable for oil-based liquids, water-based liquids, and alcohol-based liquids. They may be used with paints, stains, varnishes, mineral spirits, darkroom chemicals, non-consumable water, shampoo, and similar products.
Do not use with liquids containing acetone, benzene, lacquer, lacquer thinner, methyl ethyl ketone (MEK), toluene, xylene, isobutanol alcohol, ethyl alcohol, or ethanol. Some paint thinners may contain one or more of these solvents.
For bags previously used with fine finishes, cleaning with white spirits is recommended.
Filling Your StopLossBags
The supplied collapsible funnel allows finishes to be transferred from a standard litre can to a StopLossBag pouch in a single, controlled step. The wide end stretches securely over the can opening, while the narrow end fits the bag’s spout.
Before attaching the funnel, inflate the bag slightly with air to allow smooth transfer and prevent back pressure. The funnel is easy to clean — dried finishes peel away after resting upside down overnight on a folded paper towel. Thin oil finishes may require solvent cleaning.
