JessEm Rout-R-Lift Prestige (Metric)

Regular price £449.95
EMPTY DOM REMOVE PROTECTOR
EMPTY DOM REMOVE PROTECTOR

Description

The JessEm Rout-R-Lift Prestige allows the user to mount the base of their plunge based router motor to the carriage with the minimal height loss (14.5mm in total). Made from the same high-quality products as JessEm's Mast-R-Lift II and Excel II, the Prestige offers customers another lift option for the workshop.

The direct-drive rise and fall mechanism works via a metric screw and gives endless years of accurate and reliable service without the issues associated with poorer quality belt or chain-driven drives that tend to clog, work loose or snap over time.

A robust cranked handle operates the double bearing spindle from above the table with great precision and ease. The positive winding action is measured by the metric scale built into the router plate’s surface giving very accurate incremental calibration of the rise before ultimately using the same cranked handle to lock off the mechanism. Both the height adjustment and locking mechanism are located towards the front edge of the router lift plate, meaning you won’t have the hassle of having to move your router fence to make adjustments when in use.

The 9.5mm thick-cast, precision ground and anodised black solid aluminium top plate is very strong and flat and will not flex or bend in use. The plate measures 235mm x 298mm and will accommodate large diameter cutters up to 90mm. All JessEm plates come with their own levelling system allowing for perfect alignment and levelling and fit our own JessEm and INCRA table tops or use our router insert plate template for home-made tables for a perfect fit.

The router plate and fixing plate are low profile but to make your original router even better you can use it with the MuscleChuck for above the table cutter changes.

Please note: Please only use the supplied fixing screws that are individual to your router, for users with the un-drilled version of the Prestige lift without fixing screws should contact their router manufacturer for further details on suitable fixings.

JessEm router lift

I’ve had a couple of router tables and the problems are they are generic so installing the router is a pain and you never get it central but mostly, changing bits are so awkward and time consuming that you just don’t use it, this lift plate takes that all away it’s superb build quality and ease of use makes it a pleasure to use
Sure it’s expensive but how often will you replace it ?
Make sure you buy the template if you want a perfect fit if going into a wooden worktop

No surprises

As per the other reviews, this router lift is superb!
The only thing I would add is that the pre-drilled version does also support the Hikoki M12VE !
It's a bit of a faff if you want to have a remote switch as I did (the router has a safety feature which prevents it from starting if the switch is in the 'On' position when power is applied) but it's a fairly simple fix.
Can absolutely recommend the Rout-R-Lift Prestige !

Exemplary Build/Engineering….but tight fit for Makita….

Outstanding concept beautifully executed. However, a word of caution for Makita owners. The router’s plastic baseplate cannot be discarded, which reduces available access to its shaft lock button, and limits the height of the bit chuck above the table for changing bits. Fitting a Musclechuck solves both niggles - but at a price. Otherwise, a great leap forward in routing fun!

JessEm Prestige Router Lift

This lift belies it's pretentious name by excelling in every area. I am downsizing my workshop, to suit my future needs, and substituting my Felder Universal with smaller equipment. I hadn't used a router lift before and called for advice. Peter recommended the JessEm and I placed the order which was fulfilled promptly. They called later and advised me to use a WWWS steel shim to prevent the levelling screws sinking into the table, which was added to the order.
As a Rolls Royce trained engineer I know quality engineering when I see it and I was highly impressed with the lift when it arrived. Adjustment within fractions of a mm is made possible by an anti-backlash mechanism on the lift, a feature missing from many. The rise and fall screw is controlled by a pair of pillars on that side to prevent racking in use, a frequent cause of difficulty and inaccuracy in lesser designs.
I am currently in the process of making a Multi Function Table with accommodation for the lift. This will allow a work surface larger than my previous spindle and the flush top surface will not impede other work on the table. All controls are accessed from the top and I hope to incorporate my existing router dust shroud beneath.
I am really looking forward to using this new setup and have no hesitation in recommending it to others.

Jessem router lift

Received well packaged. Instruction ok.
Sadly no pattern to cut out profile when making table from scratch, this would be a very good idea. Lift very well built excellent quality would recommend makes router setting so much easier

JessEm Rout-R-Lift Prestige (Metric) - Superb

Delivery was very quick.
On receiving the JessEm Rout-R-Lift Prestige (Metric) it was evident that the lifter was very well engineered. We had a few problems with pairing it to the Kreg router table that we own as the mounting holes are slightly different. Once we managed to fix the lifter down the lift and raise action is very smooth and appears to be very accurate. I would recommend this lifter to anybody looking for a router lifter.

JessEm Rout-R-Lift Prestige (Metric)

This is a class act. Holds my Makita solidly and a smooth action with the reassurance of the lock. I added the insert set which although seems pricey works out at £5 an insert and the keep most of the dust extracted without the need for more extraction below the plate. If your in the market for a router lift I can honestly say this with not disappoint

Well Made Machine

I fit this router lift into my homemade router table. It works quite nicely, and is adjustable to get a nice flush fit into the table. I am very satisfied with the integrity of the router housing; the previous router plate attachment I was using allowed for the router to slip and become mid-aligned. This JessEm unit doesn’t have that problem, the router is solidly attached to the lift. There is no play, no wobble, this is a precise machine. If I had one criticism it is that the assembly instructions were confusing and hard to follow. The instructions didn’t have adequate pictures clarifying which parts were what and discerning which bolts were the ones to loosen and/or remove during the assembly procedure. Other than the assembly instructions, I’d say this router lift is a winner.

JessEm Router Prestige Router Lift

I bought the JessEm Prestige Router Lift which was a perfect fit for the Incra Router Table combo #3. Together with the Musclechuck changing 1/2 inch router bits is very easy. Setting the router height is a simple and precise operation. Again support from WWW is commendable.

Just What I needed

This JessEm router lift has saved me so much time and trouble
My Makita router fits perfectly well although operating the router shaft lock button is a little fiddly which is not surprising in such a small space.
The router lift has been very well manufactured using good quality materials.
The cranking hand is a joy to use, I do not feel frustrated when adjust the bit height, ,the lift mechanism is just sensitive enough with a definite locking
action.
I am now looking to buy one to suit my Trend router

A Gem in your Workshop

After reviewing a few router lifts in the market, I found out that the Router Lift Prestige (Metric) is one of best router lifts in the market, and it fits my Makita RP 2300 Router.
I think the lift is very well designed and accurate. It`s very enjoyable and satisfying working with high quality tools such as the jessem router lift. I would like to thank the wood workers workshop team, helping me out with this purchase. Ventura

The most important tool in the shop!

A good router is one of the most important and flexible tools in the shop. So having a good router table is essential IMO. I bought the JessEm router lift prestige to mount my trusty Dewalt DW625. The lift is very well engineered with a smooth and very accurate adjustment via the above table crank handle. I mounted the lift in the JessEm phenolic table (rather extravagant but I wanted to crack on with projects rather than spend my limited time making a table) which made the whole setup process less than an hour from unboxing to routing.

The only issue I had was the loss of around an inch of depth meant some of my router bits didn't have enough shaft length to be mounted properly. I spoke with Jim of Woodworkers workshop and he suggested the Router raizer or Musclechuck. After doing some research on YouTube and woodworking forums I opted for the Musclechuck. It gives me back half inch of lost depth and I can now quickly change bits from above the table without using any spanners. A win-win!

Best router lift ever?

I have fitted this lift to my new Woodpeckers table, and mounted a trusty Elu MOF177E router. Mounting the router and centering it on the opening in the lift was very straightforward, as was fitting the lift to the table and levelling it. The result was a silky smooth vertical movement with no apparent backlash that enables extremely accurate height adjustment. Although the router lift has a lock on the height control, I haven't needed to use it yet as the lift maintains height adjustment. The winding handle is much more substantial and easier to use than on similar lifts, and the whole assembly just oozes quality. Wish I'd bought it ages ago - and I always thought that my old router lift was good, too!. CHRIS
