Description

JessEm Mast-R-Lift II is a premium metric router lift, set within a 9.5mm aluminium plate that fits our AUKTools fixed based router as part of a separate package.

The direct-drive rise and fall mechanism works via a metric screw and gives endless years of accurate and reliable service, without the issues associated with a poorer quality belt or chain-driven drives that tend to clog, work loose and snap over time.

Make life easier! No more scrambling under the table trying to push your router up - all our American-style router lifts allow for height adjustment of the router and cutter changing from above the table.

A robust cranked handle operates the 2 bearing spindle from above the table with great precision and ease. The effortless and positive winding action is measured by the metric scale built into the router plate's surface giving very accurate incremental calibration of the rise before ultimately using the same cranked handle to lock off the mechanism. Both the height adjustment and locking mechanism are located on the front edge of the router lift plate, meaning you won't have the hassle of having to move your router fence to make adjustments when in use. The built-in spindle height lock ensures no height loss or movement whilst the router is in use.

The 9.5mm thick cast, precision ground and anodised black solid aluminium top plate is very strong and flat and will not flex or bend in use. The plate measures 235mm x 298mm and will accommodate large diameter cutters up to 92mm and can be reduced down to 51mm using the glass filled poly-carbonate insert ring (ring included - other ring sets are available). All Jessem plates come with their own levelling system allowing for perfect alignment and levelling and fit our own JessEm and INCRA table tops or use our router insert plate template for home-made tables, for a perfect fit.

Fitting your fixed base router into the lift is very quick and simple; place your router within the four aluminium fixing blocks and clamp it in place - the Mast-R-Lift II will now do all the height movement for you in one easy and accurate movement.

The router collet will now raise above the router table top for easy cutter changing but to make your router cutter changing even easier, you can use it with the Musclechuck Quick Change chuck, for above the table cutter changes.

Buy once, Cry once, you get more than what you pay for..... ish!

Yes, it`s expensive. You will get what you pay for without a doubt. The R&D invested by Jessom, the materials, the manufacturing & engineering are all reflected in the price as a fair deal. There is only one decision to make, and only one aspect of the pricing that is annoying. The decision is between the Jessem and the Incra, as they are almost identical apart from the insert rings having a tab-loc (Jessem) and magnetic (Incra). The rather annoying price feature, which is unfair in my opinion, is the inflated price difference between the imperial and the metric versions. The lift with an Imperial lift thread mechanism is just shy of £300, while the metric is just shy of £480. A whopping £180 quid difference for the same amount of engineering, material, set-up, and overall presentation as far as I can tell. Not morally right IMHO. I mainly work in metric and did consider the Imperial version as I am using a digital add-on height DRO. But IMHO, and in my mind, it wouldn`t be what I would ideally want, so I bought the metric. All this said, I am not at all disappointed overall. I bought everything Jessem produce for the router and built it into my own custom cabinet. One other aspect that reflects the highest quality engineering is the absolute zero backlash in the up-down mechanism. I have confirmed this using a Mitutoyo Absolute Digital DTI / height gauge -result? .. Zero backlash. I enjoy owning the best possible tools and equipment I can afford, even if I overstretch from time to time. I am a country mile off being disappointed. I hope this helps someone.

Very impressed

Build quality is to very a high standard and a excellent addition to my workshop. Really pleased I spent the money on this and not another version. You get what you pay for as they say.

Just what I needed

This router lift is now my favourite bit of kit in my hobby room. You may think it a bit overkill for a weekend tinkerer but my tinkering is guitar building and if ever there was need for perfection in measuring this is it. I love my new lift it gives me everything I need. It was easy to fit and set up and it works in beautiful tandem with the router I bought from Wood Workers Workshop at Christmas. If it is precision you are after in your routing then get this lift, you will not be disappointed. Always check the dimensions of your router as this lift isn't for every router

Good, but not perfect.

If you have a router which will fit this lift, I don't think you'll be disappointed, it's a very good tool.

The only down side to it is that it will only fit a limited range of router body diameters, and I don't think they publish what those diameters are. You may think that the moveable pads will accommodate varying diameters, which they do, but there is virtually no tolerance to those diameters, if you want to tighten the band to grip the router more than a fraction of a millimetre, it will pull the legs in and bind the whole mechanism. I was able to 3D print a collar to fill the gap, and that works fine. If you are able/prepared to do this, buy one.

Excellent Service

"The technical support and customer service I’ve received has been truly exceptional - world class and especially nice given it’s a rarity these days."
