Description

The AUKTools Router Table Insert Pad is ideal for woodworkers making a homemade router table or those with pre-made MDF table tops. The stainless steel 1.8mm thick insert is suitable for use with 9-1/4" (235mm) X 11-3/4" (298mm) router plates or lifts, including AUKTools, INCRA, JessEm and Woodpeckers. Made exclusively for AUKTools and designed by Peter Sefton.

Quality router plates and lifts incorporate levelling screws to set the plate flush within router table tops. Still, if the levelling screws are in contact with the MDF core these can eat into the MDF or wear over time as the router vibrates. The AUKTools Router Table Insert Pad overcomes these issues providing a flat and durable base to your router plate.

          Not suitable for Sherwood Router Table Lift Plate

          This insert pad is perfect size for the outer size to my Sherwood insert plate but too narrow in the middle sizes.
          For my router plate must be insert pad size 298mm x 235mm OD and 270mm x 207mm ID.
          The size of the flange width of this insert pad should have a maximum of 14mm.
          But as a product it is first class in execution. It is very solid and will certainly be great it served from the type of insert plate to which it is made.

          A must have

          When using a router plate or lift that uses grub screws for level adjustment then this insert is essential to prevent the grub screws indenting the MDF table and it gives a solid surface from which positive leveling can be accomplished. A well made product that saves a lot of time making your own.

          Not flat

          The insert was not flat. I solved it by epoxy glueing it into place and clamping into flat while the glue set. Once installed, the insert works great.

          Thank you for your recent review. It is very unusual for the AUKTools Stainless Steel Router Plate Insert Pad to be bent or in twist so we can only conclude there may have been a problem in transit.

          AUKTools Stainless Steel Router Plate Insert Pad

          Having bought an Incra Insert plate for my Triton Router, I didn't realise that the levelling screws might cause such a problem. I then realised that the levelling screws, could easily eat into my MDF table very easily and cause future problems keeping the router plate level. I was thinking of drilling and tapping some holes to insert allen headed screws which would then support the levelling screws.
          I then came across this insert plate which is a perfect solution to the problem.
          Excellent material, excellent fit and just eliminates any issues with Insert Plate levelling, highly recommended.

          I loved this

          I had tried to fit my Jessom router lift before without this plate and found it didn't take long for my set screws to penetrate the wood, with this plate I have redone my router lift and found it slotted straight into the mounting that the router lift jig made and it works perfectly. If you are going to the trouble of making your own router tables with one of these lifts I would definitely recommend you get this plate.
