My first GOOD spokeshaves,

Being my first GOOD spokeshaves, others being cheap, off the shelf, I have to say that these are a new lease on my spokeshave 78 y/o life. Out of the box good but am sure a little honing will be even better. Love them!

Pleased with the quality

I am greatly pleased with the quality of the spoke shaves that I purchased. They were out of the box sharp. However in the interest of good woodworking practices, I flatten the back and sharpened the iron to 4000 grit. They work wonder and are comfortable in my hand. I am reluctant to remove the plastic over the cork grips preferring to keep them in pristine condition. Thank you so much for making such a quality product.

Shaves produce a fine finish

The blades flattened up good on a diamond stone. Finished to a mirror polish on 6000 gt water stone. I used them on dry walnut and Cherry. The shaves produced a fine finish and thin shaving.

Set exceeded my expectations

The spokeshave set exceeded my expectations.It is well crafted and one of the most comfortable to use tools I own. It comes well packaged and ready to use out of the box. I have several spokeshaves including more expensive brands and this is rapidly becoming my favorite.

All I can say is beautiful!

I bought the pair of spoke shaves and the low angle block plane as a gift for my Son, in the hope that he will lean toward hand tools instead of machines. With that being said, I did open them up when they arrived. I felt them up a bit and did the sniff test. All I can say is, beautiful! The heft, the feel, the fit (in the hand) is everything you'd expect your hand tools be. Add to that, they just look amazing. They aren't cheap but they are worth the money. Speaking of which I better start saving so I can buy some for myself. Thanks Melbourne Tool Company.

Great looking spokeshave

Probable the most elegant spokeshave out there. The cork handle is such a great addition to an already nice tool. But the best part is the nice shaving coming out of them. Keep up the great work MTC
