iGaging Precision Combination Square Set

As others have said this set is very good and a step change from the cheapo unit I had before. The centre finder is one of those things that you wondered if it was just a gimmick until you get one. Once you use it you realise what a useful tool it is.

You get an awful lot for your money with this set.
I've never owned a cast iron combination square before, I have always opted for the cheaper aluminium ones, which gradually get less and less accurate over time as the aluminium wears. I didn't really want to pay Starrett prices so thought this would be a good compromise. I've used the combination square several times already, it's quite heavy compared to what I am used to, but in a good way, it feels good quality. Most importantly it is true and square. Admittedly I haven't used the other parts of the set yet, and to be honest probably won't use those parts often at all, but they too look very good.

Quality product at an affordable price. Can’t believe the difference between my old DIY version and the iGaging replacement. It will certainly be getting a lot of use.

This is the best combination square set I can afford. I've done the double line test and it is absolutely square. The anvil is cast iron and ground to a good standard. The ruler/slider is stainless, well etched, if a bit sharp on the edges. A little bit of chamfering would have fishined it off nicely. The screw-down lock is a bit crunchy compared to a silky-smooth Starrett at many times the price of this one, so I'll live with it.

Comes in a box with a reassuring bit of calibration/checked certificate thingy. It is a true upgrade from cheap joiner-grade combo squares.
