Precise cutter control for demanding router table work

The JessEm Rout-R-Lift 3.5XT gives experienced woodworkers greater control over cutter height, helping achieve consistent results when machining joinery, profiling components and producing furniture parts. Designed for router tables use, in cabinetmaking, custom jointing and general fine woodworking, it combines a rigid aluminium lift mechanism with a precision-machined phenolic top plate. Its smooth height adjustment and above-table bit-changing facility help make routine setup quicker and more straightforward.

Smooth, repeatable height adjustment

A precision-machined lift mechanism and double-sealed bearing spindle allow the router motor to be raised and lowered smoothly for accurate cutter-height setting. This makes it easier to establish repeatable settings for matching components, refining a profile or making fine adjustments during setup. The lift is operated using the supplied height adjustment handle.

Rigid construction for demanding routing

The lift mechanism is CNC-machined from aluminium, providing a rigid structure for regular workshop use. Its support shafts are hydraulically pressed into oversized mounting blocks and secured to the top plate with multiple fasteners, helping distribute lateral loads during demanding routing operations. This construction is designed to maintain stability and dependable adjustment under load.

A stable, accurately levelled table surface

The reinforced phenolic top plate provides a smooth, dimensionally stable surface for supporting workpieces as they pass over the cutter. Measuring 9¼" × 11¾" × ⅜", it is designed to sit within a suitable router table opening and can be levelled flush with the surrounding table using the supplied adjustment screws. The plate is precision-machined, while the aluminium lift assembly provides the supporting structure beneath it.

Above-table bit changes and cutter access

The Rout-R-Lift 3.5XT allows router bits to be changed from above the table without removing the motor from the lift, making cutter changes and routine setup more convenient. Three Tab-Loc insert rings with pre-drilled centre holes are supplied to suit different cutter clearances, and the dedicated insert ring wrench makes fitting and removing them straightforward. Additional insert rings are available separately for other hole diameters, including blank rings for machining custom openings.

Lock the setting for repeatable work

A built-in friction lock secures the lift at the selected position for longer routing operations. The lock engages with a quarter-turn, helping prevent unwanted movement once the cutter height has been established. The lift also incorporates JessEm's patented thread-tensioning design, which can be readjusted as required to maintain the desired tension with continued use.

Router compatibility

The lift is designed for fixed-base router motors with a 3.5" (88.9 mm) motor diameter. Direct-fit models include the AUKTools Router Motor 1500W with NVR Switch and selected Porter-Cable, Bosch, DeWalt, Skil and Craftsman routers.
