Consistent Bevel Angles

Setting the blade projection for a specific bevel can be done using the included Verum registration jig template. The template can be cut out and fixed to a solid substrate measuring 115 × 90mm. Alternatively, you can make a solid timber version with fixed stops for your most commonly used angles and use a 1mm or 2mm spacer to produce micro-bevels.

These reference measurements make it quick to reproduce common primary and secondary bevel angles without complicated calculations or dedicated setup jigs.

Stable, Accurate Sharpening

The robust aluminium alloy body provides the weight and rigidity needed to support most chisels and plane irons securely while sharpening. The precision clamping mechanism holds the blade firmly, reducing movement and helping produce a consistent bevel across the full cutting edge.

A wide precision roller base keeps the guide running smoothly across Scary Sharp abrasives, waterstones, diamond stones and oilstones, maintaining even contact throughout the sharpening stroke.
