Description

iGaging 3-in-1 Marking Gauge is a Digital Wheel Marking Gauge, Height Gauge and Depth Gauge all in one tool, does everything a traditional marking and cutting gauge gauge does but with a large LCD display, and being a digital gauge, it does it all with an accuracy of 0.01 mm.

The sharpened round cutter will leave a clean crisp line without the traditional issues of being pulled off course by the timbers grain structure. It will also cut across the grain for marking the shoulder lines on dovetail joints where the blade severs the fibres. The gauge is also great for measuring the hight of router cutters, the distance from router cutters or saw blades to fences and measuring the depth of rebates, mortices and housings. Easily switches readings from metric to imperial or fractions at a touch. Accurately toggle between the pre-set and zero measuring modes. Precise accuracy can be achieved as millimetres are displayed in 0.01mm increments, decimal inches are displayed in .0005" increments and fractions in 64th's.

The large precision stock's reference face makes it self standing for ease of setting and transferring timber thickness, simply lay your reference timber on a flat bench and stand the gauge in the upright position, slide the hardened marking wheel from the safety of it's recessed steel enclosure to calibrate to the timbers thickness. Use the knurled thumb wheel to securely lock the steel and shatterproof polycarbonate housed screen in place for accurate marking. This well balanced stock houses the 3V CR2032 battery within the humidity and dust resistant IP54 body, ensuring this quality 240mm long precision piece of equipment will stand the test of time and remain accurate within your workshop.

Ageing eyesight needs this.

Ageing eyesight needs this! Can combine precision marking, depth and thickness gauges and I can read 5he numbers easily. Even if your eyes aren't failing, you need it too.

Nice gauge

Very handy. Two little niggles; Shame it didn't come with (a) spare marking wheels and (b) some sort of storage case or pouch.

Useful depth gauge

Slightly disappointed with marking function. Blade seems blunt and is deflected easily by the grain. As a depth gauge it works very well and I will use this function all the time. Nice quality and works smoothly. Large display compensâtes for my ailing eyesight. Hence I have bought the matching calliper.

mostly good

Sturdy build and looks to be good quality for the most part. My only concern, and reason for 4 rather than 5 stars is that the locking knob needs a lot of tightening to keep the fence from slipping along the stem. Doesn't slip by much, and it takes a fair but of pushing, but thanks to the nice display you can see that it does move. Granted I haven't had a chance to use it very much since delivery so maybe it's no big deal. I do own a normal/not digital marking gauge (brass head/fence on a steel rod) and when the knob is locked on that it doesn't budge. I would have liked that sort of peace of mind with this marking gauge as well
