Accurate Flattening for Wide Timber

Preparing wide boards and slabs accurately can be challenging when the workpiece is too large for a planer thicknesser or surface planer. The AUKTools Board Mill provides a controlled way to flatten timber using a router, allowing woodworkers to create a true reference surface before further machining, sanding or finishing.

Ideal for Oversized Workpieces

A router flattening sled is particularly useful for live-edge slabs, wide panels, worktops, breadboards, end-grain cookies and charcuterie boards where maintaining a flat, consistent surface is essential. By guiding the router across the workpiece, the Board Mill removes high spots and irregularities in a controlled manner while maintaining a consistent cutting plane.

Adjustable Cutting Height

The adjustable design allows the router height to be set to suit the workpiece, giving greater control over the depth of cut while minimising unnecessary cutter extension. This makes it easier to work progressively, taking lighter passes to achieve an accurate, consistent surface.

Working Capacity

The Board Mill accommodates timber up to 75mm thick as standard. Thicker boards can be worked by adding suitable timber packers beneath the end frames.

The maximum board width within the jig is 584mm. Maximum cutting width will vary depending on the router base size and cutter diameter.
