Woodpeckers Story Stick Pro - 96" Dual Scale

Bought a 600mm & 1200mm to use when fitting wardrobes. Great service and quick delivery.

I wanted to create something around 1600+mm hence why I bought both- idea being to join them together. This I’ve done by using a FESTOOL rail connector (needed shaving down on width by about 1.5mm- easily done with a decent file. Cut in half and voila- I’ve now got an 1800mm story stick. Sadly the measurements to match up but for what I need, I use the offset tabs which work perfectly. And as I’m mobile, I stick it all in a FESTOOL rail bag which protects them perfectly.

When you combine the accuracy of Woodpecker tools with the customer service of Woodworkers Workshop, you can’t really go wrong. A valuable piece of equipment perfect for cabinet making.

Typical Woodpecker quality, purchased additional tabs due to the length of the story stick. Made repetitive marking so much easier and accurate.

This item is very useful when it comes to layout and marking up, especially with repetative marks. The only thing that could be improved is to make the main end stop from alloy rather than plastic and also to provide some more solid stops as well as the ones supplied. The supplied plastic stops are great for marking up but if there were also some more substantial alloy ones then it would be good for use with power tools like routers, dowel jigs and the domino jointers.

Another top quality item from Woodpeckers, I should have purchased one years ago, I purchased a few extra sets of different tabs due to the length of 96” so marking out on large sheets is a breeze.
Only criticism is storage as nothing is supplied but I have a cnc machine so I will be making a rack for storage on my woodpeckers wall

Great product. Effectively it's a piece of t track with measurements and then some stop block type things.
Accuracy is spot on and why I was happy to pay the relatively high price but it's worth it.
The downside is that the main red end block is plastic - for the price I was expecting metal. Also when you tighten the bolt on it, there is a slight movement so you almost have to overshoot the measurement you want very slightly to get it to end up on the correct position.
Despite that, it's still an awesome tool. The markers helped me line up drawer slides super easily as well as shelf holes, and then even used it to set out (unnecessarily!) accurate pocket hole positions.

I found this very valuable in laying out spacing for shelves, domino positions or, basically, anything else where distance need to be precise. Like all Woodpecker tools it is well made and robust. Not cheap but overall well worth the money for the accuracy counts without the headaches when things go wrong.

It looks great. I’ve no idea what it is, or what it does. It’s a Christmas present for my husband who’ll probably spend more time in his workshop now than he currently does. Hold on a minute, that’s not possible!!!

The quality of this tool is evident upon opening the various components within the strong sealed bags ,it’s woodpeckers after all, simple to assemble and as I have the storey stick 96 it’s completely compatible with the off set tabs I already have . The best feature imo is with the connectors you can adapt it to various lengths. Excellent for repeating your markings to the opposite side of your work . Happy to recommend to others.

I make bespole wardrobes and this has made drilling hinge holes and lining up hinge clips stress free. Previously used a long strip of wood with pencil marks and would have to rub off and start over every time. This makes it a doddle, far simpler and more accurate than using a tape measure, and where else would you buy a ruler this long? It butts up at the bottom and the off-set taps allow for perfect pencil marks. I read that other reviewer said they were not flush with the material but mine are prefectly flush. I would order a spare set of 4 off-set tabs if you are intending to do more than 4 marks. Markings are crisp and clear just as you would expect from a Woodpeckers tool. The 3 peices connect together perfectly with dual connecting rails. All in all a great investment and one that I will use on every job, so money well spent in my opinion.

Very pleased with this, bought it along with the 600mm for fitting kitchens. Great quality, seems to be very well made and well worth the money. Service and delivery was extremely good as well. Will soon be returning to add other items to my Woodpecker collection, although they may seem a bit pricey at first, once you see the quality of them you can understand the price tag.

Really nice bit of kit. Well-made, and can be used in a variety of lengths (32", 64" or 96"). I have started on a new set of kitchen cabinets - and the ease of measurement and repeatability make life much less stressful!

This is a brilliant piece of kit for setting out and a great addition to my 600mm story stick , the service from WWW is always first class and everything arrives in good time , I only wish they stocked more Woodpeckers , especially the connectors for the Story Stick , so I can set out to 1800mm !!

Using the Woodpeckers Story Stick on repetitive parts means getting measurements right time after time. Forget the worry of transcribing numbers, especially on large batches.

Woodworkshop very helpful indeed, excellent communication, and the "story stick' is a great aid to my workshop... Looks good quality and hopefully will serve me well...

I spend a lot of my time designing and making storage for clients, either fitted or freestanding. Not to glamourise the job but a significant part of it is cutting rectangles of wood and fitting them together. The story stick pro is a fantastic device to have to hand. It gives you highly accurate and repeatable marking for cutting up sheet material that is enormously fast and accurate. Then when you need to mark up a vertical panel to either biscuit or domino shelves in, you set the tabs to the correct marks on the stick and 20 secs later, it's done.
I've built two wardrobes and a couple of 2.4m tall fitted cupboards using this and it's made the job much easier, faster and more accurate. Indispensable already. I cannot recommend highly enough.

Haven't used it much, but seems like it will be useful for marking out repeat spacing's for domino jointing, which was my primary reason for purchase. Disappointed I can't get any offset tabs for surface marking.
