JessEm Ultimate Excel II Router Table Package

Right down to the packaging it arrives in, this router oozes quality!
I come from a family of engineers and am very particular on how well things are made and put together and this Jessem router is up among the best out there!

Have no doubt, this is a really a high quality package. Could do with an A4 summary sheet for the UK - noting the lift is set up for the supplied auk router, and fix the side rails on whilst the table is upside down, but that is really me showing my inexperience. This table is so well specified, everything fits, nothing is missing, the packaging it comes in ensures nothing gets knocked or damaged. I'm very impressed!

I thought long and hard about spending the money on the jessem router table , after many months of reading reviews and watching you tube videos i took the plunge , when the delivery arrived just looking at the way everything was packaged it was obvious that this was going to be a quality product , i work on cnc machines everyday and the precision of each component is cnc precise , it took 3 hours to assemble from start to being able to use the router , if you are considering investing in the jessem router table just go for it you will not be disappointed , its an investment as i can see this lasting my lifetime with the way it is engineered .i have just made 22 shaker doors and saved the cost of the table so it has already paid for itself in a month.

Having wrestled with what to buy to upgrade my routing equipment, I arranged a visit to Wood Workers Workshop where Jim gave me an across the board show and tell of the options. After further pondering, I elected to buy the JessEmm Ultimate Excel II Router Table Package along with the AUK 2400 watt motor with speed control. This is expensive but the quality is superb. Assembley is straight forward with excellent instructions and was accomplished in about 6 to 8 hours. Limited use so far but the results are superb, the TA fence permits very small adjustments, about 2 thou. (imperial) increments, so jointing with a fine finish becomes a pleasure. Changing collet size is so easy, likewise router bits. I have done a little work with a 38mm shaping bit, again with excellent results facilitated by the motor power and speed control. I highly recommend this package.
I have found Wood Workers Workshop staff very helpful from providing technical advice to dealing with administrative matters. They are a team that provides a quality service.

I have always regretted buying cheaper machines for my home workshop, whether that be a table saw, planer or router table. I've had an Axminster table and router lift for many years and it's just horrible to use, gets clogged with dust, bits changed below the worksurface, generally just a pain to use. So I finally bit the bullet and went for the Jessem set up. I know it's expensive, but I should have done it years ago. The quality and engineering is simply breathtaking! I know it all looks great in the photos, but until you hold it in your hands you can't tell just who good it is. The first item I unboxed was a table leg, not very exciting you'd think, but even that is a work of art. Everything seems just way overengineered, which makes it such a pleasure to use. I can't recommend it highly enough, just don't tell your significant other how much it cost!

Yes, this is an expensive piece of kit for someone developing their woodworking skills, but I will not need to replace this any time soon. You get what you pay for in life and in this case, this is excellence. It took me most of the weekend to assemble everything, and there are some good YouTube videos that help with some of the trickier bits. There was just one piece of the caster kit that was not milled properly, and this was very quickly replaced. The ability to accurately adjust the height of the bit and the fine adjustment on the fence is amazing. All-in-all an excellent piece of kit that will see me out. The only thing I bought after this was a new dust extractor which means that the amount of dust is now minimal. I can see me adding a mitre gauge to my Xmas wish list in future.

Put this together myself, it helped that all nuts and bolts etc went exactly where they were meant to go .. Had it built a few days after delivery but had to wait 7 weeks before I could use it as the AUKTools Router was out of stock .. That came last week so got to use it for the first time .. Dust extraction works very well with hardly any dust on the table after use. I also used the micro adjust for a few pieces of Padauk to joint ready for a box I am making .. Expensive but in my opinion well worth the money for a piece of equipmet that will last my life time ...

It is a beautifully crafted table, that was a easily constructed due to the excellent engineering precision. I have yet to use it, as I am awaiting a new router motor, but I can see that it will provide an excellent workstation, that will last for years.

Yes, it is expensive.
With the obvious out of the way, lets look at the main points of this table. Everything about it screams both precision and quality. I quite like the phenolic table top. Might get annoying over cast-iron. But it's nice to have a sruface I don't have to constantly wax to stop it from rusting or to run smoothly.
The markers on both sides are long and accurate with plenty of micro adjustment. The ability to micro adjust the outfeed fence is a very nice feature, will likely come in handy for when I need to joint up wider pieces.
The lift mecahnism is beautiful, smooth and precise. The ability to lock the height with such accuracy and minimum faff is great.
The wheel kit works great and means the unit can be hidden else where in a breeze.
The dust collection isn't overly fantastic but does get the worst of it.
Only wish is if the measurements were all in metric, there are some bits the canadian manufacturer is dertermined to be imperial.
