Create A New AccountWhen setting up your machinery the question of either using an analogue height and depth gauges or using a digital readout to set your system up has split opinion for years.
iGaging have the answer, introducing the EZ-Read Digital Router & Saw Gauge. This gauge combines both metric and imperial measurements with the large digital display accurate to 0.03mm (0.001") and can provide three measuring units including metric (0.01 mm), fractional inch (1/64") and decimal inch (0.001").
On either leg of the gauge, you have a laser engraved millimetre and 1/16 inch scale for manual measurement. At the feet of the gauge, there are six offsets, in 1/16" increments, ranging from 3/16" to 1/2", they can be used as set-up blocks to set the distance from the fence to the cutting edge of the bit.
The Gauge is supplied with three interchangeable anvils for use with 1/4" shank cutters, 1/2" shank cutters and a 50.8mm (2") long depth rod that all screw into a threaded hole at the bottom of the sliding measuring scale. They also self-store in threads on top of the gauge.
Setting the centre of the bit from the fence is easy using the extensions. With the 1/2" anvil, you can find the centre of router bits with a 1/2" shaft, similarly, the 1/4" anvil it lets you locate the centre of a 1/4" shaft bit.
The 2" depth rod can accurately measure the distance below a surface. Lower the extension to the surface top, zero the display, and then push the probe into the recessed area you wish to measure.
The gauges main body is made from Aluminium with a blue anodized finish and it is IP54 rated against dust and moisture. The gauge is supplied with CR2032 batteries and will automatically shut off after 5 minutes of inactivity.
