iGaging's Origin SpeedMic Digital Micrometer, whilst not an item you see in every woodworking shop, can be a handy tool to have when creating your projects or jigs.
This micrometer differs from a standard micrometer which uses a calibrated screw for precise measurements of components. The lever-activated mechanism allows you to open and close the micrometer quickly. Place the object to measure between the spindle and the anvil and gently release the operating lever until the object lightly touches both the spindle and the anvil. The supplied ball attachment can be used for measuring internal dimensions.
The iGaging Origin SpeedMic Digital Micrometer has a measuring range of 0-25mm (0-1") and is accurate to 0.003mm (0.00015"). It is finished off with an integrated SPC/USB data output port (transfer kit sold separately) and rated IP65 for dust protection and coolant proof.
