iGaging OriginCal IP54 Digital Caliper - Absolute Origin 0-4"

If you have been using an Am*zon special you are in for a TREAT! The iGaging Origins are a vast (very vast) improvement. They work first time, every time. They are very sensitive and “wake up” with the slightest nudge of the thumb wheel. Zero is always zero (nearly 2 weeks of daily use and I haven’t needed to reset at all). If you ever need to measure anything less than 145mm with a high degree of accuracy these are a necessity. I sincerely wish I bought them years ago!! Oh, and WWW service, as always, was impeccable.

I already had a good quality non-electronic vernier and I’ve had cheap electronic versions before, none of which are any good. I approach this purchase with caution, however it is obviously a much better product. The caliper feels good in the hand and the feature which is most useful is that you do not need to zero itevery time you use it, which is really useful.

I find myself reaching for this all the time and it’s much quicker than using a manual version. Well recommended.

Really impressed to see the tool in action, the best for my needs. Only thing I wish is it to be made outside of China.

Bought some cheaper (but not cheap) callipers and was very disappointed with the performance. So I spent the extra to buy these and have found them to be very accurate and very smooth to operate. If you are looking for a precise and accurate set of callipers but can't justify Mitutoyo prices, these are a great option.

Received and happy although I did have to calibrate by 0.02mm to obtain accurate readings on items of known dimensions.

Little frustrating why can they not just make them accurate period.

Excellent bit of kit very smooth always returns to zero, do not waste your money on buying those cheap ones, spend a bit extra it's worth it.
Also service from Wood Workers Workshop was excellent A star.

I already have a very good Moore & Wright Vernier Caliper and a cheaper Digital calliper but this is definitely a good addition. Its well made, smooth in operation and the absolute Zero feature is worth having. Excellent serve and fast despatch from Wood Workers Workshop

Brilliant calipers, smooth, easy to read and highly accurate. Easy to swap between metric and imperial, wouldn’t want to be without them.

Solid and consistent in reading.
I was expecting iGaging to have auto shutoff, but like Mitutoyo this caliper doesn't offer that option, but does come with 2 batteries at least.

This caliper is absolutely first class but a bit over-the-top for my needs as I don't have the use for computer connection. I returned it for the lower specification model, iGaging EZ Cal Digital Caliper 6" × 1, which has a larger display and includes inches as well. Again, it is superb in every respect and I thoroughly recommend it.

The service and assistance from the store is great. They are knowledgeable, know their products and the goods arrived the next day.

Very pleased with these callipers. I've used cheap callipers in the past but they are a false economy. These IGaging IP54 are extremely smooth to use and give accurate measurement every time unlike the cheap versions out there.
These got very good reviews in comparison to others twice their price.

I was very pleased with the igaging digital calliper, it arrived quickly and well packaged.

Been using those cheap £10 ebay calipers for many years and this iGaging IP54 ABS caliper is on a different level of quality.
Consistently finds zero. The jaws are ground flat so measuring ID and OD is more dependable.

I would highly recommend paying the extra money and start with these calipers.

These are a worthwhile step-up in quality. If you see reviews elsewhere note that these versions are not fractional, and don't come with the depth stop/stand.

Very accurate and good quality item

I was in need of a new set of callipers after my £9 set from Lidl started to play about (shocker there!). Following the trend, I thought Mitutoyo would be the best option, looking at their digital callipers I couldn't justify the £118 price tag for the cheapest set. Even their Vernier callipers are more expensive than these for fewer features. (I know you're paying for the quality etc).

Seen these on a couple of youtube reviews and the seemed to be up there with some of the top competitors, and the price was right. They come with a good quality plastic box to keep them safe. I've noticed in the product description that it says that it comes with one battery, but when you get the callipers there's a battery pre-installed in them, along with a spare battery which is nice to have just in case. The callipers themselves look well, they're a nice tool to use, with a smooth sliding action, and you can tell that they are manufactured to a high standard. When I went to use mine, at zero it was showing 0.03mm but after hitting the zero button fixed this and I haven't had any issues.

The absolute origin feature works perfectly, allowing you to take the measurement and then turn the callipers on if you forgot to without having to reset the callipers, and the measurements are always spot on. The ability to use a USB data cable is also a nice option to have, which further down the line I might consider purchasing. If you are looking for a precise set of callipers, that are high quality and perform brilliantly, but without the high price tag, the iGaging OriginCal IP54 Digital Caliper will serve you well!

I bought this for my home metalwork hobbies after reading quite a few good reviews. My previous callipers were an old vernier Mititoyo from my apprenticeship many years ago and a fake digital Mitutoyo. I checked the accuracy and I have a .0005 inch oversize reading which is within tolerance. My Caliper does not appear to have fractional measurement so I don’t think it is the latest model but that is ok. Overall quite happy.

Vary good does what it says on the tin .
Only time will tell at this price thay are no not the most expensive
On the market but longevity in key.
All in all good at the moment
