These Precision Engineers squares are ground from high quality carbon steel with a hardened and tempered blade, and have been synonymous with accuracy:

  • These Engineers Squares conform to BS 939 B (DIN875) for Squareness of blade with the edges parallel ground. Tolerance of the working surface and the blade edge falls within 0.016mm/0.00064" for every 150 mm of blade length.

    Supplied in their own box to maintain accuracy, they were first produced by Otto Fisher in 1946 - and are still being producing today in the South of England.

    We have been using these Fisher squares for many years and have never had a return, they as accurate and robust as other squares within the same BS939 (B) grade, costing three times as much - offering great value for money.

    It's a square square!

    A hefty tool

    This is a BIG square .

    Like me, it's perfectly square

    Yes, as the man says, it is completely true on both faces. This using the straight edge of a machine to reference against, pencil a line, then check it from the other direction with any error being doubled. There was no error both on the inside and outside face. OK, so it's square; that's what it's supposed to be - good. But, it is also a "thing of beauty" and just a nice thing to own. Just got to be careful not to drop it!
