What's In The Box?
I've used vernier gauges all my woking life butnot for woodworking. These are very accurate and are now my "go to" calipers if I want to measure in metric, for imperial I stilluse my trusty Mitutoyo quadri. Definatelywould recommend.
My researach ended in a choice of 2 digital calipers - the Mitutoyo or the iGaging. Wood Workers Workshop had the iGaging for a good price (and considerably cheaper than the Mitutoyo in the UK) and it arrived the day after I ordered it. So far I have been extremely pleased - it is well made, consistently accurate and repeatable. I would definitely recommend it.
Great piece of kit .Tested it on a feeler gauge and it was spot on. Delivery was very good too as it arrived next day, even though I chose free delivery.
I already had a 2 sets of calipers both digital and old school from a well known supplier but I always had a problem with accuracy in my woodworking. The digital calipers just kept coming up with different readings even when I put them back to zero. These new calipers are always zero when I check so I am confident that what they say in the readout will be the true reading time and time again.
Now I have the luxury of having an accurate datum from which to work; so that's another excuse for my woodwork not being up to scratch eliminated!
The iGaging IP54 caliper is a beautiful instrument very well made absolutely accurate and very easy to use it will take pride of place in my tool cabinet.
