Niwaki GR210 Folding Saw

The Niwaki GR210 Folding Saw is the perfect pruning saw for regular use in the garden, for thinning shrubs, pruning fruit trees and other meatier jobs that secateurs or loppers can't handle. With a chunky, sturdy rubber handle and 210mm blade that easily cuts branches up to around 70mm diameter, this is the ideal size to carry with you at all times. It fits very nicely in the Double Holster with a pair of Secateurs.

As with all Japanese saws, it has a narrow blade for efficient sawing, and cuts on the pull stroke, go easy and don't twist or snag the blade. Pruning is not about strength or energy, it's about care, positioning, precision and rhythm.

Care of your Garden Tools

Japanese Pruning Saws are really effective tools. They cut on the pull stroke and not the push, which means the blade is under less pressure when cutting resulting in using less energy and a far cleaner, faster cut. However, the blades are more fragile than traditional western saws and incorrect use can result in damage.

• Use a smooth, gentle sawing action, doing the cutting on the pull, and gliding back on the push
• Keep the weight of the branch supported to avoid pinching or catching the blade
• Avoid twisting the blade while sawing
• Don't use a small saw for a large job. Treat 1/3 of the length of the blade as the absolute maximum sensible cutting diameter
• In general, blades snap-through misuse and poor handling and would not be covered under the warranty of the item
