Woodpeckers - Shelf Pin Template - Combo is a heavy duty template for making a a series of holes for shelf pins combining both imperial and metric spaced holes, 0.25in or 5 mm.

It works with self-centering drills bits, router guide bushings and even plain drill bits (with optional drill guide.) This is a very unique tool that combines what are typically multiple templates into one, accurately machined tool.

This template is CNC machined from 3/8" thick phenolic sheet. It's the thickest, most durable template on the market. All the holes are 3/8 diameter making it 100% compatible with Snappy Shelf Pin Guided Bits and 3/8" diameter router guide bushings with ¼ or 5MM spiral router bits. If you get the optional Woodpeckers Drill Guide, you can also use standard brad point drill bits. These Drill Guides have stainless steel drill bushings pressed into aluminium bodies.

For your convenience we're also offering the Snappy Shelf Pin Guided Drill Bits which work very nicely with the template. There are some less expensive imported ones out there that I tried but didn't like; too much tear out.

There are 21 imperial holes and 17 metric holes.

    Woodpecker's hole in one!

This like all Woodpecker products is extremely well made and very accurate. As suggested in the video I purchased the Snappy drill bit but as I am using Birch faced ply I decided not use it preferring the router instead., needless to say the result was perfect! I had considered the Veritas jig but this Woodpecker is much more router-friendly. Using my Festool OF 1400 fitted with the Trend GB/5/R Sub base, the GB95 Guide Bush and a 3/1 X 1/2 TC cutter the "hole" process was a piece of cake. There was one unexpected bonus and that is using the Metric side of the jig I found the spacing of 37 m/m in from the edge to be exactly right for the placement of the door hinges commonly used on kitchen units. Well done Woodworkers Workshop, tip-top as usual.

    Excellent!

I used this with my Dewalt router the Trend GB95 guide bush and the C174 5mm dowel drill. It worked amazing. Perfect accuracy for mounting European hardware based on the System 32 method of cabinet building. Very quick and easy using the router to put holes in a full 8ft length of panel.

Woodpeckers - Shelf Pin Template - Combo

Really nice product and very easy to use. It has a good balance of weight and robustness. I felt this represented a good balance between quality and value, especially compared to some of the other systems available. I used a Trend 9.5 mm guide bush instead of 3/8 and this worked well and means compatibility is more straightforward in the UK. With a 5mm spiral router bit, holes are very clean and accurate. Definitely worth clamping the jig down when using a router though. Great service as usual from the Woodworkers Workshop.

Woodpeckers - Shelf Pin Template - Combo

I first saw this jig on one of Steve Johnson's 'DownToEarthWoodworker' videos on YouTube and was immediately impressed with it and how straightforward and flexible it is to use. The jig is very well made and solid and as I've got 14 workshop cupboard's/shelf units to make this January I'm sure it will be a totally invaluable tool to have in my shop. I would highly recommend this jig and I would also recommend that you budget for either getting the brass bushing guides for your router or the Snappy Self-Centering Drill Bit to enable your project to be completed without interruption. Thanks to Woodworker's Workshop for prompt delivery and overall great service!
