Description

Great for assembly work, too. Slots are milled into the phenolic along both edges. This lets you clamp the square to your MFT (or any workbench, for that matter) and then your workpiece to the square. Now your work is perpendicular to the work surface. You can also clamp the square to two joining workpieces, holding them perpendicular to each other. If you use it to square up your work during assembly, don’t worry if you get a little too generous with the glue…in won’t stick to the square.  

Large Machinery Set-Up Tired of setting up re-saw cuts with a small square? The Layout & Assembly Square gives you a generous 15" on each side and the 3/4" width keeps the square upright while you use both hands for adjustments. At the table saw, the extra length lets you span your saw blade from front to back while setting up your miter gauge. 

Keep Your MFT Square Technically, your fence and guide rail don’t have to be square to the holes in your MFT top to give you square cuts. But anyone who has used the system knows that it can be reassuring when everything lines up and you can use your stops and hold-downs in conjunction with the fence. The MFT Layout and Assembly Square comes with two 20mm location dogs. Drop them in any two holes in an MFT table top and your square is correctly aligned with all the holes. Now set your guide rail and fence to the square and everyone is on the same page of the playbook.

Woodpeckers Precision and Quality. Woodpeckers meticulously machine the MFT Layout & Assembly Square from a nearly indestructible solid phenolic. It’s the same material they use for their top-of-the-line router tables. It won’t warp or twist and it is completely impervious to moisture. The location pins are turned on state-of-the-art CNC lathes and anodised to give them our familiar 'Woodpecker Red' colour and a tough finish.

As you would expect from Woodpeckers a top quality item.
This is a lot bigger than I thought and is brilliant for assembling cabinets not only does this free up your hands but keeps it square.
I have used this in the MFT and can say it’s bang on with no movement in the dog holes.
I would have liked a wooden plaque to wall mount this along with my other Woodpeckers tools but I can cut one on the cnc.
As ever the service from Woodworkers Workshop was 5* and the item was dispatched very quickly and very well packaged.

Absolutely perfect!

I needed some precision tool to square my Festool MFT/3. Using standard squares that you can buy in a typical hardware store round the corner didn't allow me to get the results I expected from such a excellent tool like Festool MFT/3. It's like owning a Porsche without the engine. With Woodpeckers MFT Layout & Assembly Square my setup is complete at last and I regained confidence in my skills.

Wonderful

Fantastic tool, don’t know how I managed without before. I use it to square up my mft/3 table (literally in seconds) which gives my the confidence of knowing everything is perfectly 90 degrees. Also very useful for squaring up the fence of my router table, and a great help for assembling pieces. It’s nice and big, well build and super nice to work with.

gewohnt gute Qualität von Woodpeckers. Zudem ist der Anschlagwinkel schön groß und sitzt absolut stramm in den MFT Löchern. So lassen sich die MFT-Anschläge schnell und präzise Ausrichten, was nach jedem Transport des MFT´s auch erforderlich ist.

Really nice n Super Handy!

Yes it’s big.
And yes if you’re eyeing this sleek bad boy you are probably asking yourself :” Am I really gonna fork out that sum for a such a seemingly simple task as squarin my Festool Guide Rail to my MFT every once in a while?”
Well… I know that’s what sprung to my mind when I first came across this new version of Woodpeckers MFT Square … but gosh darn it I have to admit…the moment I saw it…‘specially with those two beautifully anodized red Dogs …I knew it was just a matter of time before I got me one!

Now , I actually use the whole MFT system on a Festool MW1000 Mobile Workstation , and not on an actual MFT/3, so that means I’m setting up shop from scratch in the beginning of every work session , and wrapping it up at the end of the day.
So this lil buddy is imperative for setting up a nice , neatly squared Guide Rail n Fence configuration pretty darn quick.

It’s truly a joy to behold n use !!
The material n craftsmanship have to be experienced first hand to be fully appreciated, and it really makes squaring a swift n hassle free ordeal that’s outright fun!

I’ve yet to use this for clamping like Woodpeckers suggest , but I’m positive it’ll help with those tasks , and I’m sure if anyone gets a wee bit creative, they’ll surely find other uses for this pretty baby!

I’m also pretty limited workspace wise… all of my tools are stored in Systainers , almost nothing hanging or laying around anywhere, so I was a bit worried in that respect before purchasing this square.. ‘specially due to its size. …Man was I pleased to find out that it perfectly fits inside my Sys3 XXL 337 ! I had to place it upside down, but it went in perfectly snug n supported by everything else in there ! Amazing!!

Simple and effective

It is not a complicated bit of kit with a couple of dogs and triangular square. But it enabled me to finally adjust my mft so that I could get an accurate 90 degree cut. Would highly recommend. 👍👍👍👍👍

Great Square for MFT

Works well to quickly check MFT is square after a move or change, Although its thick and quite heavy I wish the sides could be higher to check track is square with thicker material so you don’t have to drop to check then raise again, Woodpeckers old one had higher sides but discontinued… something like an edge flush screwed in Dogs like some rail squares have would work! but this doesn’t stop this being a good product although priced as if it was machined Aluminium...
