Mirka - Abranet - Abrasive Strips - 70 x 198 mm (Pack of 10)

Mirka Abranet Strips 70 x 198mm are the most popular size of Abranet for larger panel work. A unique multifunctional Aluminium oxide net sanding material. Mirka's Abranet range eliminates the frustrating problem of dust clogging the sand paper abrasive and creating pills which cause defects in the sanding surface. This ensures Abranet retains its original aggressive sanding performance for far longer, resulting in less abrasive being used on any particular project.

Abranet’s revolutionary abrasive offers dust free sanding with no clogging and fast cutting rates. The open mesh design features thousands of tiny holes, using a 'Henry' type vacuum cleaner to suck away dust and other particles without clogging the abrasive surface!

Because Abranet abrasive keeps the surface that you are sanding dust free, this results in a very uniform scratch pattern leaving an ultra smooth finish. It is excellent when sanding contrasting timbers or veneers as there is no cross contamination of dust, meaning the sanded surface is very clean with no muddying of the surface, the clarity this leaves the surface is unmatched with any other sanding product. It is incredibly durable and lasts up to five times longer than traditional abrasives whilst cutting twice as fast, this makes it very cost effective both on abrasive costs but more importantly saving labor costs and elbow grease.

It has made a major impact on the exposure to cancerogens in the Woodworking, Woodturning, Decorating and Automotive industries improving respiratory conditions and the working environment.

These Velcro backed discs are suitable for a wide range of materials including Hardwood, Soft and Resinous woods, Veneer, MDF & HDF, Lacquers, Primers, Paint removal and cutting back, Body Fillers and Putty, Plaster, Plastics and solid surface composites, Metals including Mild and Carbon Steel, Non-Ferrous and Aluminum.

    Abernet - Abrasive strips

I had never seen these until I visited the Woodworkers Workshop., and got to play with them on a French Polishing Course and I have to admit I was sold on them virtually straight away. I found it was such a versatile material that seemed to last forever, far outmatching the standard 80, 120, & 180 grit sandpapers that you can obtain. So impressed was I, that I gave away a lot that bought from Woodworkers workshop to family and friends who are likely to try it out, and I'm sure that they will taken with it too. Yes initially expensive, but the results speak for themselves. You have got to try it out!
